We decided to avoid horrendous crowds at Disneyland on Saturday, and opted for the beach instead.
It was a great decision. Huntington Beach was unseasonably warm and we enjoyed 90 degrees, making even the cold California ocean bearable.
We enjoyed playing in the ocean and Emma LOVED collecting hundreds of sea shells and digging with them. Luckily, she forgot about her hording pile when we left and did not insist on bringing them home.

On Sunday we stopped by La
Jolla cove (somewhat on the way home) and saw the seals. My
SIL Michelle was super excited to show Emma the hundreds of seals that hang out in La
Jolla, but to our dismay, most of them had decided to escape the upcoming cool weather and had migrated. We saw about 6 seals total, which still thrilled our easily amused Emma.
HEY, her Mom doesn't let her watch much TV, so 2 seals frolicking in the ocean is pretty darn awesome. :)

And that my friend, is the closing chapter on our wonderful California vacation.
We are still mourning it's passing. May it rest in peace and live forever in our hearts. And someday, in the not-so-distant future, perhaps we shall meet again.

After living in Florida, I have come to believe that California isn't all that great. Thanks for reminding me that it can be wonderful, too. I need to hear that, as sunny FL is now thousands and thousands of miles away...
So funny we were there at the same time! We ate breakfast in La Jolla Saturday morning before heading to Sea World right at the cove where you were! We should have coordinated!
