We enjoyed a "BANG" of a Fourth of July!!
We had a wonderfully long weekend and relaxed and spent lots of time in the pool!On the Fourth, we had a BBQ with my Aunt Sharron and her children, including my cousin Sheila who flew in from San Jose. We followed that with the fireworks over Tempe Town Lake. Everyone told us we were crazy for fighting the crowds and the heat, but honestly neither were too bad. I enjoy getting out and being part of a community. We even rode the light rail in, to save frustration with traffic.
Emma was TERRIFIED of the fireworks at first, but as they progressed she grew to love them and would say "WOW" and "SO PRETTY". The show was really great and totally worth the $5 admittance fee.
Our friends, Trent, Sarah and Baby Rowan joined us for the fun, and we have to thank them for their kindness and charity in joining our evening. Evidently, we are not as cool as we think, because we invited about 10 other couples from our ward and NOBODY else wanted to sacrifice their social standing to be seen with us in public. Hats of to Trent and Sarah for their generosity! :)
We also welcomed a new member to our family... our computer family, that is.Our laptop died about 2 months ago in a smoky death. Yep, smoke literally came out of the back. Not a good sign. It was 6 years old, and unfortunately in computer years that makes it 97.
We have been trying to survive without it, but our desktop was slowly giving up the ghost as well. This weekend we FINALLY gave in and purchased a new laptop.
So while Greg was doing THIS all weekend...
Emma was entertaining herself by sitting INSIDE her toy basket.

Sorry we didn't make it. I wasn't feeling well as well as being on call. Roman didn't make it much past 8. We would have loved to have been there, it sounded like it was worth it.
Can't say I blame your other friends :) This reminds me of the time we tried to sneak on top of the Helaman Halls roof to watch fireworks. Fun times!
Looks like your guys had a blast! What was the pool in Chandler? Hey...is there a splash pad type pool area in Tempe? Is it in Kiwanis?
Nice tan! Thanks a lot for inviting us. :)
Sweet Emma! I love the bangs and I am glad that you enjoyed the fireworks!
Hey Tammy might I say you are lookin hot and trim in that swimsuit!! I'm so impressed-- keep up the good work lady.
ps, I think the fireworks were worth the 5 bucks too, plus the 5 I had to pay Trent to hang out with you guys.
You all are really just too adorable for words. No really, I meant it, you are! Looks like a grand time on the 4th for you. Aren't new toys the best? Our laptop is only a year old, but I'm always in fear that it could go on me anytime. Living without a computer is just, well, impossible. Congrats on the new member.
A TOSHIBA? Really? A TOSHIBA?
I am hurt... wounded... devistated... I had to lay-off three people from my staff last month because Dell's sales are down and you buy a TOSHIBA?
Thanks a LOT on supporting our competition.
When I am sitting on unemployment row, I'll have you know we are moving in... so I can use your Toshiba :)
Love you!
I love Greg's little smile of pure joy on his face as he plays on his new toy. I recognize this smile from my own husband's face. P.S. If I were in AZ, I would have totally gone with you guys. I am all about the firework celebrations!
