Injection Training

Don't be jealous.

On Thursday afternoon we get to attend an "injection training" to begin the super fun part of the Invitro Fertilization (IVF) process. After all the meds are injected the surgeries are tentatively scheduled for April 15th and 20th. One surgery to remove the eggs and a second surgery to place the fertilized embryos back.

$2200 later - Mr. Fed Ex Man delivered a HUMONGO box of meds to my door step yesterday. I just couldn't resist taking a snap shot of everything that will be put into my body over the next 3 weeks.

We really do get to have MUCH more fun than any "normal" couple trying to get pregnant. :)

And why do we do it all? For moments like the pictures below. Emma makes it so much easier to endure IVF because I can see the tangible results and can feel my heart expanding every day with love for her. I'd pay 1,000 times more money and give a million more self-injected shots for the chance at another child that I love as much as our sweet daughter.

Romans 15:13 - "Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost."

Emma has not been feeling well. Last night we put her in PJ's and then she laid on my chest. After 2 minutes, Greg looked up in complete shock and said, "SHE'S ASLEEP!". We had to take a picture because the last time she did this she was THREE WEEKS OLD. No joke. Our child does not sleep on us.

Speaking of injections... Emma was injected with a healthy dose of sugar at my Aunt Sharron's bday party last Friday. She screamed for 15 minutes because she wanted to eat the cupcakes BEFORE dinner. And she couldn't have been happier when she was finally finished eating dinner and could binge on the cupcakes.

As a side note: Emma will graciously accept any birthday party invitation you extend. I wish I could say it's because she loves you, but it's really because she knows that cake or cupcakes will be there. Don't take offense when she runs right past you to see what kind of dessert has been brought as a birthday offering to her.

Ever heard the phrase, "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree"? I just mask my true purpose of party attendance better than a toddler.

Here she is with her second cousins: Erin and Owen Krebs. What a cute fun bunch! Happy Birthday to one of the greatest women to ever bless my life. We are so lucky to have Sharron close. She brings an unending amount of laughter and joy into our lives.

Oh honey! That's a lot of drugs and A LOT of money. Save your receipt, because I recently learned that all those medical bills make for a nice tax write off. :) Matt and I will be praying for you guys as you go through the IVF process again.

All I can say is wow. I had no idea. I am glad that you are so open with everything you have to go through with IVF because I think most people (probably just me) have no idea what it all entails. You are amazing!

And Cambri and Emma have the same dress. Their moms must have some really good taste!

What a cute picture of Emma sleeping on you. That is exactly how our oldes was too. Never fell asleep on us, except when he was tiny. Good luck with all the injections. It will all be worth it!

I feel for you. Having a baby is never easy, no matter how they get here. But another little ball of energy and fun like Emma is so worth it. You guys are such good parents. I truly hope it all goes well for you this time around.

Wow. That is a lot of crazy boxes of crazy stuff. I totally won't blame you if you grow a third eyebrow or a pair of wings or become a crazy cat lady with all that hormone running through you!!! Sheesh...and that's before all the hormone rush from being pregnant, delivering and lactating!! You have a fun year ahead, eh??? :) You are a trooper. I can't wait for you guys to have another baby as cute and fun as Emma!!

oops, fiddle dee dee. Apparently Allyson was still signed in on my computer from earlier this morning. So, the previous comment was actually mine and not Allyson's. :)

Wowsers.I took an injections training course last week, although we discussed much less drugs than yours. I did however learn how to inject Ovidrel, Menopur, and use a Follistim pen--all of which I saw in your collection. Loved your post. It inspires me.

We can't wait for Emma II. Good luck with the shots and all!

You know Trixxx, we all need to look at this from a different angle.. Millions of sexually active teenage girls and prosititues everywhere are ENVIOUS that they could have the same challenges that y'all have so they could avoid what you are trying to get into. Isn't it great to be envied? Glass half-full?

You are in our prayers every single day, but you'll get a bit extra over the next little while. I guess we need to get into our doctor sooner rather than later... we should be coordinating these "events" :)

We ADORE you... J.

I had to click on the picture of all the meds. Ahhh, brings back many memories of doing that. I have taken most of those myself. In fact, I have a TON on new needles I haven't even used yet. Paid for and just sitting in a box for the next time :)

I hope all goes well for you and Greg. It's hard putting all in one basket sort of speak. If you need any talking to, for emotional peace of mind, I'm here. :)

*oh, thanks for the blurb.com advice*

My babies don't sleep on me either (unless they're sick- so it does have it's benefits.) That is a LOT of drugs, wow! We are praying for it to work for you guys!

And we would like to invite you to Rowan's b-day party, April 17th. Tell Emma there will be a monkey cake. :)

I just wanted to wish you well with the IVF. We're in the clomid stage, hoping to avoid that route, but we're willing to go there if we must. It's such a process, isn't it? Both of my sisters have gone through it. The first had relative success, getting pregnant twice from three tries, but the other got pregnant on the sixth... It's not easy. I'm praying for you.
