Celebrating the 4th!

Happy Fourth of July!

I know I'm only 2 1/2 weeks late... but better late than never... right?

I was a little bummed at first that it was on a Wednesday and we could not go up to the cabin for a long weekend... but it was actually really fun to have a random holiday in the middle of the week where Greg could play with us all day!! And we sure crammed it full of fun!!

I found these super cute and easy chocolate covered strawberries and just HAD to make them.  I think they will be a new tradition.  I love white chocholate!!  Even more than milk chocolate!  Does that make me a little crazy?  I guess just one of many things that makes me crazy.

Since our kids birthdays are both in January, I decided to also start another tradition of the "Freedom Fairy" so that they could get a few small gifts in the middle of the year.  Seriously spent less than $10 on each present... but Emma was really excited about seeing what the Freedom Fairy brought her.

Our ward had a pancake breakfast which was super fun.  I love the following pictures because these are of the primary kids singing at the breakfast.  What's that you say?  It looks like Emma is singing a solo because she is standing at least TWO FEET in front of the rest of the kids?  That would be a negative on the solo - my daughter just happens to love attention and felt that she should stand in front of the rest of the kids.  Haha.  I would bet a million dollars that my parents have a similar memory of me doing the same thing.  Heaven help me.

The kiddos under our American Flag.

We enjoyed visiting Aunt Sharron.  We were planning to swim, but it was raining a TON, so we sat on the back porch and enjoyed watching the storm.  That afternoon/evening we enjoyed an awesome bbq/swim party with the Shumways.  Great food, great fun!!

Here are Greg and Rob properly folding a teeny tiny American Flag.  Haha.  Without an Eagle Award between them I was impressed they knew how to fold one!  :)
