Hawaiian Airlines is the best! They gave Greg and I leis because we were celebrating our 10th Anniversary! Greg also had arranged to had leis given to us when we landed in Maui! So fun!! We checked in with condo unlocked (guess everyone is pretty trusting in Hawaii), grocery shopped at Walmart (expensive food), dinner by ritz Carlton, walked to beach, Laura and Tom arrive around midnight
May 5
Sunrise (5:50) - We were already awake because of the time difference, so we took advantage and watched the sunrise! So beautiful!!!
Church at 9:00, view of ocean from sacrament, came back and ate lunch, went to beach fully clothed -LJ in sweater - looked like Mennonites (haha), hiked to light house, hiked down to blow hole (lots of inappropriate jokes referring to people's blowholes), drove the 341, very very scary narrow and narrowish roads, around the scariest curve - passed by a naked local who gave Tom the hang loose sign and made Tom's trip worth it, Laura very nervous checking map to make sure we were done with the most narrow, Greg started nervous eating popcorn, best banana bread on planet was closed but found another stop for yummy bread, stopped at gallery to pee and get snacks, beautiful drive!!, cooked frozen pizza back at condo, got local boyz shaved ice in the rain (rating-dirt). Tired! Went to bed early.
This is our view from sacrament. The lighting is bad... but through that door we saw ocean!!
The jewelry shop where we used the bathroom, ate snacks and bought nick-nacks. Much needed break along the very narrow and scary road.
This was a snack bar which was unfortunately closed when we reached it!!
