Kentucky Trip in October!

One of the perks of Emma's School, Eduprize, is the extended Fall and Spring breaks that they offer. It is an adjusted year round schedule and I LOVE IT.

She was given 15 days off of school during Fall Break and we decided to spend 12 of them in Kentucky with my family!  We had such a great time and Emma and Grant LOVED LOVE LOVED spending time with Grandma and Grandpa Krebs and their cousins.  It was so much fun!

Within minutes of seeing each other, Emma and Aliya were already dolled up in Princess attire.  Darling!

The kids spent LOTS of time on my parents trampoline!

One day it was so warm we go them in their swimsuits for some swim time and hose time on the porch.

Cute Elsie!

We enjoyed a morning at the Lexington Children's Museum!  Of course they have to ride horses in Lexington!!

Celebrating Jacob's birthday Harry Potter style.  Chuck was Dumbledore!

After the party, we (Dad, Chuck, Matt and I) decided to ride our bikes home (about 17 miles).  It was SO incredibly beautiful!  I ride along a canal here in Phoenix where they sometimes find dead bodies, so to ride along horse farms and beautiful countryside was AMAZING.  At one point a small pony actually started running along side the fence as if to race me.  So fun!

We may or may not have trespassed onto some private property to make a short cut for ourselves.  tee hee.

Corinda giving the girls mani/pedi's.   They loved it (of course)!!

They tried sleepovers a few times, but shockingly, they never quite worked out.  Usually Aliya was saying that Emma was talking too much and would not let her fall asleep.  haha.  Greg could probably make the same complaint! :)

They spent 4-5 days making "potions" in the backyard with all of the yard trimmings and flowers and leaves.  It was really creative and keep them entertained for a long time!

Grant making a fort with the couch.

Park fun on a stormy afternoon.  We had to leave a few minutes later because it was pouring rain!

Grandpa Krebs giving Grandma Krebs an under dog.  haha.

Enjoyed a wonderful day at the Kentucky Horse Park!

We got to join Aliya's Kindergarten class on a Field Trip to an apple orchard and pumpkin farm.  It was one of the BEST orchards I have ever been to.  The kids had so much fun!!  Next year I would go on a day when we could spend more time!!

Here are the girls on the hay ride.

Beautiful Kentucky!

Grant feeding the goats!

The whole gang!  What a fun day!!

They had a sand box filled with dried corn!  So cute!!

Grant was in LOVE with these tractors!

Picking our pumpkins!

Grant taking my parents new dog, Gabby on a "walk" in the backyard.

Our day at Keeneland!  These wonderfully kind Keeneland employees saw the kids and pulled one of the horses off to the side for the kids to pet and feed mints to.  So fun!!

Spencer pretty excited about the horses!

Cute kids watching the horse races!!

If you look really hard into the far right corner of this picture you can see the horses racing by.  We had great seats!

Emily and Jackson watching the horses!

Love this pic of my Mom and Grant!

For the last race of the day we were RIGHT in front of the starting gate!!!  So exciting!!!

Here we are enjoying the UK Arboretum.  The kids had a great time playing and learning!

Emily helping the boys with their hand and paw prints!

Hiking at Red River Gorge.

Looking out over the Kentucky River.

Swimming at our hotel before we flew out (super early in the morning) of Cincinnati.

I hope we can make extra long trip to Kentucky in October a wonderful tradition!!!  We had such a great time!!
