Extreme Makeover - Adams Home Edition

As many of you are aware - we purchased a 1978 townhome in August 2007. I was born in 1978 and I am old (turning 30 this year!) - so this townhome is old too. We knew some remodeling was in store and budgeted for this accordingly. Many of you have asked to see the townhome, so I decided to take you all on a tour of our lovely abode. This picture is before and after of our bedroom. The walls were already red when we moved in and it matched our existing bedroom set, so we kept it. Notice the shutters. I had to use all of my "wifely begging" techniques to get them... but they were worth every minute of whining.
This is our kitchen. The before shots are on top. We got new appliances and painted the walls green. Notice the new kitchen table that was previously blogged about. We love it!!
This is our patio. I forgot to take before shots, so these are both current. We would love to get a patio set so we could enjoy outdoor meals in our amazing Arizona weather... however, both of our neighbors smoke CONSISTENLY and this puts a real damper on our ability to enjoy the patio. I would have seriously reconsidered buying the home if I had known this little annoyance.
This is our living room area. The pics were taken right after Christmas (hence the poinsetta). The only before picture is in the top left corner. Please notice the aforementioned shutters in these shots as well. If you'd like my training video on "101 begging techniques to get nice things from your husband" - I'd be happy to send you a copy. :)
This is our guest room - come and visit ANYTIME! We painted the walls, changed the ceiling fan and put new fabric on the sitting bench.
This was the nastiest room in the house and took the most remodeling love. It was the ORIGINAL bathroom from 1978. There was nasty mold on the ceilings and it was just disgusting. We replaced the floor, the lights, the toilet, the vanity, the mirror and added the cabinet above the toilet and paint. Basically, the only thing we did not change was the shower.
This is the bathroom in our downstairs hallway. We just painted and added a cool mirror and light fixtures.
This is our little angel's room. The only before picture is in the top left corner. This room took a lot of work as well. We did all the painting ourselves. We added a new ceiling fan and had to do some major work on the tacky wiring job they had done with the electrical outlets. She obviously does not lack clothing options. :)

I'm so impressed! I'm really not a home makeover type of person so I'm amazed at what you've done with it. I forgot to talk to you on Sat. night about Cortate Furniture. I have quite the horror story for you about that so don't let me forget next time you see me.

The whole house really does look amazing!!! I can't wait to see it again in person and this time you have sweet little Emma. HOLY COW-CLOTHES galore!!! I will have to teach her how to change her outfit 7 times a day just so she will get her use out of them all:)

Wow! That's amazing. It all looks so great. I love the shutters. I'll have to remember those when we actually have a house...someday!! I love pink and brown! Avery's room is decorated in those two colors as well!! You guys did a great job.

I would like to place an order for your 101 ways video. I too would love to have shutters but anytime I mention the idea Ryan brings up how much they cost. Blast having a budget conscious husband! Next time I am decorating a room I will be calling you, so be prepared!

Tammy - Your style is just like mine. Your house is beautiful. I love to decorate and your little daughter's room is just like I would have decorated for my little angel's room as well. Gotta love Pink and Brown combo. If you need some "mom get togethers" or "play dates" let me know. kleighd@msn.com

WoW!!! You should be a designer on HGTV or DIY. Seriously, WOW!!! Great job!!! Looks fantastic. We're in the process of painting - Molly loves to paint - but I get to do all the ceilings and edge work...lots of fun!!! Hope you're all doing well...

HOLY SMOKES, you could do a TV show!! Are those all your skills, or does Greg have some decorating ideas? YOU ARE AMAZING and I would give my left middle toe to be able to do that. I am currently mourning my inability to make our place look decent. You have a FABULOUS house! I am rambling now, but wow, I am so impressed.

I was just asking Aubrey what your house looks like. You both have great taste. LOVE the shutters! They are always worth the money, plus resale. But I'm sure you used all that in wifely pressure or I mean begging.
I feel you pain with the smokers. I can't seems to get away from them. When I live at the condo in Tempe my neighbot was like a little smokestack. Loved her, but sure would have enjoyed some fresh air. Once again my neighbor here smokes. Fortunitly he's 2 acres a way. But I don't like my kids over there around all the smoke.
Also I love the baby's room. That will be a great transition to a big girls room.
Miss ya

You guys are amazing. I can't imagine how on earth you managed to get all of that done! It was well worth whatever work it took because it looks amazing. Well done guys. Do you want to come help decorate my baby's room next? I'll fluff the pillows in the guest room for you! ;)

You guys, there is definitely a lot of remodeling love that we feel when we are in your home. It's so classy and it definitely doesn't look 30 years old anymore.
Emma looks so dang cute in her Happy Bday shirt!! Looks like you guys had a blast in Texas.

WOW!! You're house is so darling!!! I would love to come over for a tour and then hold your baby!!! Seriously I didn't realize you were such amazing decoraters. The shutters are fab-worth all the begging. BTW about the Easter eggs they are tissue paper cutouts and they were Mod Podged on. So Fun!

Gorgeous! I love the bathroom! It looks like all of your hard work has paid off.

Guess what Tammy! My hubby TOTALLY knows you! He grew up in Arizona and went to Horizon high school, and he remembers you being in his ward at some point in his life, but he can't quite remember when. He said, "She's the nicest, sweetest person in the world!" I said, "Yep, that's her. You definitely know her." Someday he'll have to meet Greg too!!
Update on Kalia/bottles: The sippy cup top that turns a water bottle into a sippy has been by FAR the most successful for her taking actual breastmilk. Bottles...still struggling, she wants to chew on them. So good luck again.

Looks great! We did a lot of work on our first home as well. It really makes you apprecite it and makes it your own when you put in the hard work! The best part is the baby's room, I am sure! I loved doing Mazie's room. Looks fabulous, I guess watching those home improvement shows have really paid off:)

I love your house!!Our house still needs alot of TLC, and by the look of yours it really can be amazing.

Wow, wow, wow. we started painting our kitchen in our 1980 (way newer than yours) townhouse for Labor Day and we still haven't put the baseboards back on. The pile of things to do gets longer, but as you now know, life with a munchkin seems to hinder things, and studying for the Bar didn't help. You have done a spectacular jog.
