The previous post was what I'm thankful for. This post is dedicated to what I am NOT thankful for. I am not thankful for my BRAND STINKIN' NEW bag of yummy trail mix from Costco that spilled all over my soon to be mopped kitchen floor. ARGH! Did I scoop them up and put them back in the bag to eat at a later time? You betcha!! Wanna come over for trail mix? :)

I'm not thankful for SLEEP confusion by my precious baby. She can't seem to understand that 7 week old babies need to be SLEEPING. She does great during the night - but not so good during the day. 10 minutes here, 30 minutes there. I love her to pieces and would be willing to play with her all day long, but this little thing needs her sleep or she turns into a drama queen come 7pm. But how could you be frustrated at the sweet little face? She melts my heart.

Hate to say it. But I'm yet to be thankful for my new calling as the ward music director. I'm sure my gratitude will come with time... but I have been successfully avoiding this calling for the last 12 years. Guess the Lord finally caught up to me. Darn it all. Thankfully my mom and Greg have expert advice and experience that I will benefit from. I am thankful for music - so I'm sure this experience will be positive. I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.
What are you NOT thankful for?

I am not thankful for little children who will not let you put them down so that you can get projects done! I am thankful for a fun friend like you though. I so would have picked up the trail mix too. Sadly at my house I would have had to fight two kids and a dog to get it off the floor before being gobbled up by little munchkins. That Emma is too cute! Hope she gets the sleep thing figure out soon.
You are too funny. I am sorry to hear about your new calling...although I know you will be GREAT! You know Caryn has that calling right now, too...so maybe ya'll can swap ideas. I am sorry about the trail mix...Emma's clothes are ADORABLE!
Somehow Kyla has learned that when I get the broom and start sweeping it is her cue to come see what goodies she can pick from the pile. She would've gone nuts over your trail mix pile! I have picked things up and saved them on a floor MUCH dirtier than yours, if that makes you feel better.
Here's my tip for your calling: have Greg sing a solo every other month. Sing a congregational hymn every week Greg isn't singing. Simple!:) You'll be awesome!
I so know how you feel. Sometimes I swear my children are permanently attached!I can't wait to meet your sweet baby. She and Nora would get along in the no sleeping during the day! Maybe we'll see you Saturday night at Bucca???
Ha ha--What a great post! I am NOT thankful for nausea. I see nothing good about it.
For what it's worth, I think you'll be awesome at your new calling. I know it takes some time to adjust, and I hope the adjustment is smooth and quick! It seems like almost every calling I've had has taken a little adjustment time, and then I love it just in time to get released. Good luck!
I am not thankful for a son, Kade (2 next month) who insists on "helping me" stir food, flinging it all over my (another thing I am ungrateful for) carpeted kitchen, while my 7 mo. old Charlie insists on hanging on my pants or screaming, wanting to be picked up, while I am wrestling with Kade trying to salvage dinner before it all ends up on the floor. As for eating off the floor... Sometimes, ok... almost all of the time I have cheerios and half-eaten (and sometimes mushy) graham crackers all over the floor... Hey... it saves me from having to get the kids yet ANOTHER snack! :)
She is beautiful! And as for trail mix, you will probably get used to things spilling, although it is always annoying. Anyway, I found you through Erin Faye and I'm so excited for little baby. She is beautiful, and maybe one day she can meet my crazy son when he calms down and is worth a date.
i totally would have picked up the trail mix and would eat it. you are my kind of girl.
and i'm totally with you on the sleep thing. tyson was AWFUL until about 6 months - but both day and night. Avery was an amazing night sleeper, but took about 2-3 30 minute naps until 9 months. Now, she is a sleeping queen. I hope yours does not last as long as either of mine!
Emma looks darling-Purple is a good color on her.
i would've done the same thing with the trail mix. emma looks so adorable!
Love the hair and the cute bow! It is totally normal for her to be a drama queen, Mazie has been one since day 1.
I'm not thankful for loading and unloading groceries and a little boy in a out of a car in a down pour. I was able to keep everything but myself relatively dry.
Can you stop having such a cute baby!!! Ha! I'll come eat your trail mix with you as long as you have lint in there....gross...kidding...cause we know you and Greg shed your belly lint all over the kitchen.
I would totally eat the trail mix off the floor with you. What time should I come over! ;) Yeah, I can teach you how to make you blog look cute although I think I was able to do mine by accident. I really had no idea what I was doing and was surprised it even worked!! I have some friends that are really good and I need to have them teach me! :)
Okay I just realized you have a totally cute template!!! So, I need to come over and have you teach me!!! Which would be great than I could hold your ever so cute angle!
I'm not thankful that it snowed here in Texas this week and they're calling for it again today. Isn't that why I moved here?
I'm also not currently thankful that my work clothes are so tight on my ever expanding belly but, on the flip side, I guess I am glad that I'm not big enough for maternity clothes yet...
That is the cutest picture of Emma EVER! I hope you get this comment, it's a little late. I had the EXACT same sleep problem with Kalia (at about this age too) and I got really frustrated- I read all these books and tried new things. Nothing worked. (until she hit 4 months old, which I then recommend a book recommended by Jeff A's wife, Holly, called Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child) but anyway, as for the sleep confusion, she outgrew it after 6-8 weeks. Good luck, and it WILL get better!
