Friend: Have a great time at "The Dell"!
Greg and Tammy: WHA? The what?
Friend: You know... cool/hip/trendy lingo for "The Del Coronado Hotel" in San Diego.
Greg and Tammy: Oh. Right. Guess we are not cool/hip/trendy YET. We better go and stay at the resort so that we can aspire to use nicknames for this beloved establishment.
Greg had a THRILLING "water law" conference at "The Dell" last week in San Diego. I know you'll all want to rush out and sign up for that amazing topic. :) Emma and I tagged along for the resort and beach time. Head to San Diego to NOT sit in a boring conference all day? I'm in.

The resort was HUGE and BEAUTIFUL. Really a city in itself. I've decided I really really really LOVE all inclusive resorts, where you never have to get in your car to go ANYWHERE. Everything is right there, just waiting for you. How convenient. Really, my idea of vacation. Here is Emma trying desperately to study the map of the hotel grounds. How could she possibly think we all those stifling clothes on?

We had so much fun exploring the resort, the beach and all the shops. When she napped in the afternoon, I had all the time in the WORLD to read, read, read. Which was amazing. If you were to ask me what a "true vacation" is to me... it would include having all the time in the world to READ. No designated activities, no obligatory people to visit, just me and a book.
AAAAAAHHH.

Oh right. The guy who brought us here. He made some photo appearances here and there.

After Greg's conference was over, we spent Saturday morning at
Legoland's new aquarium. It was really great, but a little over priced for the amount of fish we saw. We were in and out in an HOUR... and I was left wanting MORE. For $20 a pop, I'd like something to entertain me all day, please. Regardless, we had a great time with the fish that were there. Greg is pictured below with his LEGO Mistress. I don't mind, because I could just rip her to pieces if I wanted. :)

The aquarium is GENIUS and puts all of the fish tank glass at LOW levels so that children can easily see. Emma really enjoyed seeing all the fish swim by. When a huge shark came swimming toward her, she didn't even flinch. Guess we better work on "water safety" for our next
FHE.

A wonderful trip to "The Dell". The trip went very well. Thank goodness for portable DVD players used to
mesmerize fidgety passengers on car trips.

How fun! I especially love the pictures of Emma on the beach. She is getting so big!
Emma is definitely her Father's daughter (studying the map-haha!)
The pictures look beautiful!
I am glad that DVD player helped Greg to settle down during the trip :)
My idea of a vacation is completely and totally the same as yours! :) And the lego mistress was way too hysterical for words. Nicely done.
You have got one smart kid. She can already write her name in the sand! Glad you had fun, and relaxed a little. Everyone deserves a break every now and then.
Ohhhh, I love it there! Hotel Del and Coronado beach have a special place in my heart because it was part of mine and Shane's dating experience. He took me walking along that beach...so romantic. :) Then we took the kids there after we were married and they loved it too. It's really a beautiful beach. And Hotel Del is really cool. I'm jealous.
Um, that Lego Skank is super ug and has nothing on your hotness. So, yeah, don't even sweat it. That looks like such a fun little getaway trip! I'm glad you got to have a nice jaunt over to the beach for a few days!
Looks so so fun!! And wow~ nice photo skills there with the Emma written in the sand picture~ ooh! Impressive.
I'm not sure how you ever stop kissing Emma's ADORABLE cheeks to take any pictures at all. She is just so cute. I can't get enough of the pictures of her.
What a delicious place to get away too. So glad you had a fabulous time! I especially loved the naked Emma studying the map, too cute!
So, are you back in AZ now? i will be in Mesa all week, starting Sunday. We should get together. 406-231-1810. I have nothing really concretely planned!
That's crazy... were we there the SAME time?? We were there the week of february 14th- 20th. What if we were at Legoland aquarium the SAME day?!?! haha... that' s funny. Great place isn't it? Let's all move there!! I think that's what heaven must be like...
Drew says he would love to be signed up for some of that conference action. I wouldn't mind taking the kids to the beach myself. And I am totally with you on the book reading vacation!
I'm so concerned for Lego Skank's baby - it appears to be a 65 year old man (or woman?) with a case of the "benjamin button".
If y'all want a trip to "THE DELL" why didn't you come see us at the REAL DELL! I am there EVERY DAY and would love some company. Love you guys! Wish we could have gone with you.
Love the pictures of Emma - what a cutie! And it looks like you had a great time in San Diego. I am so jealous. I miss the sun. I didn't win the opera audition yesterday but I played well. Can't win them all! Love you!
OOO, how fun! I'm from SD, and haven't been home in a long time, so I must admit I'm a bit jealous. :) That looks like fun to me. I haven't checked your blog in awhile, but it looks like you guys are going well. Emma is such a cutie. Oh, and the water law doesn't sound THAT boring to me. ;)
