We're expecting... a tighter budget now that Greg's salary has been cut by 8%. His law firm cut the salaries of ALL attorneys so that they could avoid additional lay offs. Greg and I are very grateful that we still have 92% of his salary and feel blessed that we have listened to wise counsel and live well within our means so this doesn't hurt too horribly.

We're expecting... many more years of wedded bliss. We celebrated our 6th anniversary last weekend by taking a getaway trip to my grandparents cabin. Here is my handsome hubby showing you just how HAPPY he is. (Really a fun little camera trick... try it some time... shake your head furiously back and forth and have someone snap a pic of you. Hysterical results.)
We're expecting... that little Miss THANG will just keep getting cuter. Although, she is at quite an adorable stage right now. Here she is belly laughing about something silly, I'm sure.
We're expecting... to complete a TRIATHLON on Thanksgiving Day this year. Thanks to the amazing ladies pictured here (thanks Alyson, Dixie and Jenny!)... we have become inspired to train for a sprint triathlon in November in Goodyear, AZ (400m swim, 2 mile run, 12 mile bike). We have 6 months, so PLENTY of time to get ourselves in shape. My sister Laura is joining our group prep and ANY of you out there are welcome to join the fun! If you have any tips for us and our training, PLEASE pass them along. We need all the help we can get.
We're expecting... that you all had WONDERFUL Mother's Day, as we did. Here is Emma pictured with my Mom, who I am eternally indebted to. We are also so grateful for Greg's Mom and the love she shows us. Greg bought me a NEW camera for Mother's Day, as you will remember our latest was a casualty to Emma's sippy cup. It is AMAZING! And so is my husband!
We're expecting... that Emma will need to fall off the swing before she realizes that she can not let go and reach for us, mid-stride. No more baby swings for this one, she wants the BIG swings only. YIKES.
We're expecting... that our garden is going to turn into a JUNGLE soon. I think I may have gotten over zealous with my planting and we may run out of room very shortly. Squash anyone?
We're expecting... to get an apology note (and insurance information) ANY DAY now from the JERK who ran into my car at Costco yesterday and just drove away with no note or information. Seriously, who are these people and how can they sleep at night? We should send our scorpion friend over to their bed. :)

Sheesh, you can't just lead us on like that and not "deliver." :) That's just too cruel. j/k. Sorry to hear about the salary cut, but glad that no one else's job is on the line. Can't wait to see you guys soon!
I just found a scorpion crawling across my kitchen counter. Luckily no one in my family has ever been stung but I have nightmares about finding one in my bed. Poor Greg. I hate those buggers!!
Tammy, that was a cute post and all, but SERIOUSLY don't play with my emotions like that! Can you think of some other verb to do that with next time . . . unless you're REALLY expecting!
I just LOVE your blog girl! You never ever cease to amaze me!
CUTE CUTE CUTE!
The scorpion however, was dang
U-G-L-Y! YUCK! Can't say we've found any of those in our bed in KY!
Ok...not funny. I had to scroll down to the end to see if you really were announcing what I wanted you to announce! I feel your pain...Nathan's work did the same thing...We're a little less income family too, but grateful to have a job. Good times!
I am sorry for the pay cut, the scorpion pain and the dented car. Jeff and I noticed that Greg was wearing his Church socks for you on your anniversary:)
Can't wait to see Emma in better spirits in June!!!
Love you!
Mean little trick, Tammy. Hope you survive on the paycut--that probably puts a damper on any further "expecting" announcements, huh? Well, you know Greg and Noel finally got pregnant without any help after her 4 in vitro cycles. It CAN happen!
Aren't you a naughty little vixen?! I forgive you because your post was so cute. I expect to be doing that Triathlon with you guys on Thanksgiving day and kickin' your TRASH! :) hehehe. It's going to be so much fun with all of us doing it together!!!! YEAH!!! What is it with Costco people in general? I had some old dude get out of his car just as I was about to get out of mine. He just let his drivers' side door bang into my passenger door. Before I realized what happened (because I was gathering up my purse and thought Dane had just banged into something) the old dude had just disappeared into the crowd of blue-hairs. Seriously, Costco parking lots are crazy.
You DLW! I really did scroll down to see if there was a big announcement at the bottom. I kept thinking, "Naw, she would've told us at BC." Sorry for all of the bad luck that came your way. I want to do that tri with you guys too. Hopefully I will do better because it is a shorter swim. Happy training!
AWWW man, that was very tricky. That shake your face picture is hilarious.
Clever post! And that really stinks about the scorpion! I am so glad that during all my years in AZ that is the one thing I have NEVER seen! I am sure you are glad it was in your bed and not your sweet daughters! And your garden looks amazing - what's the secret?
I just don't think it's right to use that term "We're expecting" so many times. Every time I read it my heart skipped a beat (I am still waiting for my prophetic dream to come true, you know). Sorry to hear about your car, love Greg's church socks with his shorts, and congrats on the camera! What kind did you get?
And a big SORRY for that scorpion. That is horrible! I can't even imagine. I would never go to sleep again if that happened to me.
Not NOT not cool.
You're kill'in me! Seriously, painful!
Emma is YUMMY! I want to eat those thighs. And it sounds like she has the fun personality to match.
Missed seeing you while we were home, we'll try again in December.
"I don't know. something amazing I guess."
Just kidding, I think you guys are pretty darn amazing-facing down scorpions and taking on triathlons...surely it doesn't get anymore amazing than that!
Yeah for doing a triathlon!! You will rock at it!! Seriously, then you will become addicted!! :) yuck!! Yuck!! That scorpion deal is sooooo sick! I could not sleep after that! Eeewwwwwww. You guys are awesome!
What a fantastic post, I LOVED it! I'm sooo excited that you're gonna do the Thanksgiving tri, I promise you will so love it. Totally gross and scarey about the scorpion, ICK! And not gonna lie, picture of Gregs face shaking, creepy. Finally, thanks for being such good little examples of gardening, living within your means, etc. Thank goodness that Greg still has a job and all is ok with your budget for now.
You trixie little hobbit. I miss you. I'm going to need to move to AZ so I can be entertained by you guys again. Or you could move to TX...
Emma has got to stop it because she is just too dang cute!
We are also "expecting"- a million dollars, a dog for Emma's 8th bday, some alone time at a cabin, to do an ironman in Hawaii, a fancy new car, and a baby!!! None of which are going to happen any time soon! Cute post and please don't trick me like that ever again! All I am expecting is an apology!
Well I'll be blunt and tell you what I was expecting....A trip to Utah? Just kidding. I was confused and read the first line of the first paragraph twice. Really cute post Tammy. I read all the way down to the ode to Glen and I love being caught up on what's happening with your beautiful family. PS. I do expect a BABY announcement sometime in the future. Is that fair? Love you(: Erica
Tammy, you are EVER so clever! :) I loved this post! And I am SO excited that you're going to do the tri in November!!!! YAY! You are seriously going to love it. I still can't believe Greg got bit 4 times by a scorpion in bed. That is very scary and painful! Yikes.
Hi! I found your blog on Ryan and Dyan's blog. Your little girl is adorable. Cute post. Check out ours: www.cheliusricedorff.blogspot.com
Hope you are all doing great!
Shelley and Jason
Okay... blonde me... I thought the picture of Greg's face shaking, was Greg's "swollen and deformed" features from the scorpion sting. HA HA! Can't wait to see you!
That was very cute Tammy!! I feel your pain with the pay cut...we got one too! I also live in a city where people hit your car in a parking lot and don't care...mine happened at church 2 weeks after we bought our car...it sucks! Your little girl is adorable. Maybe we'll get to see you one of these days when Michelle gets down to Arizona!
Sorry...I was also going to say that if you really want any triathlon advice my parents are experts! Chris and my mom and dad have been doing triathlons for quite some time and are what I would consider tri-geeks. I am planning on doing one next summer when Chris comes home.
Love this! Not the salary cut and the scorpion, but that you have lots of things you are expecting! Its great!
TWENTY-SEVEN comments?!?! Are you serious?? Who do you think you are? TAMN??? Or Nie Nie or something? Ugh. And yes...i think i need to get involved in your triathlon training. I've always wanted to do one and think that this time around it would be good for me to get in shape faster than my usual post-baby schedule of a year or so. Count me in 6 weeks from now! (or from whenever this little turd makes her debut).
ok, so kind of random, but have you tried using a plunger on the dent in your car. I know it sounds crazy, but it really works.
