I thought I would dedicate this post to a few of my favorite baby items. I'm hoping in return you will suggest some of your favorite items and everyone can WIN!
This item has been a GOD SEND (thank you Gina!) for Emma's sleeping. It sings her to sleep for all of her naps and bedtime. It plays calming ocean waves and the darling little fish swims around. Emma absolutely loves it and it has made nap time and bed time a CINCH. It is sold at WalMart and Target and Babies R Us.
This is my baby carrier that I use. Called the Moby Wrap. It is super duper comfortable and Emma LOVES it. She frequently falls asleep in it when I am carrying her around. It is especially nice at restaurants when I need both hands to eat and she wants to be held. The downside is that she gets all kinds of yummy food stuck in her hair while I am eating. oops. It is only $30-40 and can be found at http://www.mobywrap.com/
This is "My Brest Friend". Greg gets jealous of the name, but I have loved it for breast feeding. The best part is that it supports my back (which is very sore from lugging Emma around). It clips around you so you can have it as high or low on your waist as you want. It can be found online or at Babies R Us.
HALELUJAH!!! Thank you to everyone who suggested I try these bottles. I don't know what it is about them, but Emma has started taking a bottle from them!!! Frankly, I don't really care if the manufacturers lace the nipples with cocaine... as long as Emma is enjoying them I am GREAT. We got to enjoy our first real date last weekend and she was an angel for my sister. Thanks Laura for babysitting! And thank you Emma for taking a bottle!

I don't know if I'm much of a product person for babies. But I do love myself the Bumbo seat when they're a little older. And I also really do love the bouncy seat. It's the only thing my girls would sleep in. Oh, wait, and the swing that swings front to back and side to side. Maybe I do like a few products...
I agree the Bumbo is great!
We are big fans of the bouncy set. We have one on every level of our house. I'm go to regive a try to the Advent to see if Taryn will take the bate.
I love the blessing gown. Absolutely beautiful!! She will really treasure that when she's older. I love all the family pictures too. That is such a special day for moms and dads.
"Breast Friend"... he he he
I've seen those... I wonder how they compare to the Boppy. I used one for my first two, and was planning on using it again. I like how it wraps around the back.
Thanks for the suggestions. And I'm SO glad for you that Emma is taking a bottle!
I don't have any suggestions (yet) but I really appreciate yours. Your cocaine comment about killed me. You are a hoot.
so great that emma takes a bottle! i dont really have a baby product that i love or wouldn't do without. except both of my kids are addicted to the same type of soft blanket and if it helps them sleep through the night, i don't care if they have it until college!
Tammy, my favorite thing Makenzie uses is the "swaddle-me" or "snuggly". YOu can find it at Babies R Us and it is made by Boppy. It's sorta a blanket that wraps them up (with velcro). Makenzie won't sleep without it. I love your post!! THANKS. I was actually looking for something I could carry Makenzie in. I will try your thing. And yes, those Avent bottles are GREAT. I love them.
Well, Kade is a bit older (2 now), and a boy, but right now I could not live without his big tonka truck dump truck. It's AMAZING what he can do with that thing! The BEST christmas present EVER! He helps me take the garbage out, recycle the news papers, push the laundry detergent down to our laundry facilities, and it's a great truck for Kade to run up and down the gym with when I am at the church exercising with my my friends in the gym. Charlie also uses it as something to push up against to practice walking, and Kade is entertained by pushing it around and running upn and down the halls for hours on end (I am seeing Charlie getting put in there sooner than later)... It may be more of a boy toy, but I LOVE it!!!
As for babies, I really loved the bath sponges (this is SO hard to type with a two-year old standing on my lap trying to put a bobby pin in my hair!) for the baby to l;ie down on when giving baths. It's as big as a newborn, and it's a sponge with a "baby shape" sort of carved out of it. Although I don't know if I am truly giving credit where credit is due, neither of my boys were ever afraid of water or the big bath tub, since they were there in the big tub laying in the water from day 9 (when their umbilical cord fell off :D ).I haven't been able to find them anymore, though... We've had the same one through two kids, and I am hoping it will last through the next couple too...
Tam,
Baby Einstein was a true blessing for us. You'll probably want to wait a little while to introduce it though. It is nice to plunk them in front of it while you shower. Benjamin was mesmorized-however, I will say that he loves T.V. which could be an inherited trait from his mother or learned b/c of the many Baby Einstien watchings. BTW Tyler enjoys the aquarium b/c of the noise. Also I tried the Advent bottles on Tyler and they worked a lot better I thought.
I'm going to resist putting in a shameless plug for my own products that I sell :) and agree with you on the Avent bottles. I used them with both my girls and thought they were great. I can't wait for the next baby so I can try the Bumbo seat. They look like the thing I always needed but never had when my kids were little.
I wrote these for Jackie Shakespaere... These were my "couldn't live without" things:
Long list:

Crib Mirror
Stroller
Pack n' Play
Boppy
High Chair
Changing Pad to bypass changing table

Emma :)
Wow! That was quite the list! I wouldn't normally contradict someone's comment but as a speech therapist I have to say that cups with straws will not help your child learn to talk any sooner. I think cups with straws could be good for other reasons but they have no effect on speech development. Sorry.
Well, I love the baby products you listed and I'm so glad the bottle worked. It's the only one we ever used with Madi and she never had a problem. I'm a fan of many baby things including the bjorn, boppy, baby einsteins gym, Madi's saucer from babies r us, gerber sippy cups, Madi's fisher price piano that she can stand or sit and play at. Gosh, there are so many things. I could go on and on. By the way, loved the cute pictures of you and Emma and the ones of the blessing.
I really liked the wrap thing--is it hard to use? We couldn't live without are lambs wool baby blankies and the knowledge we gained for the book Baby Wise when Connor was a newborn. And THANK HEAVENS you found a bottle that works! We all need a little freedom!
Awesome lists here! And first, HUGE HOORAY for Emma and Avent bottles. That's the best news ever.
I LOVE (kalia too) the Ocean Wonders aquarium, they are the best. I also wouldn't live without a bouncy chair, and the bumbo was FABULOUS for a few months (then they grow out of it, so if you can, borrow instead of buy?)
As for Baby Einstein, I admit it, I use it to occupy Kalia when I need 30 minutes to myself. I've been using it since she was 2 months old. Hee hee. I'm so bad. But I have to say, the ONLY one that holds her attention is "numbers nursery". I've tried 4 others and she gets bored and starts fussing.
