WHY do punk kinds have to get their kicks out of keying "F*** You" into the back of my husband's new car?

WHY does Emma hate tummy time so much? Is it because her cheeks easily weigh 5 pounds each and she just can't get her head off the ground? Here she is with Abby Garrett who is one month YOUNGER than Emma.

Why is polygamy (polyandry in Emma's case) and prearranged marriage so wrong? There are plenty of eligible young men that I would like Emma to marry. How can she possibly choose between them all? Here she is with the handsome Beck Davis. Love, twoo love.

Why do we have to use car seats in HOT HOT HOT Arizona? They burn my baby everytime we get into the car! I think from now on, I'll travel Britney style.
(BTW - Any Arizona moms have a solution for this?)

Why isn't the cellulite on my butt cute?

Why do the writers for "LOST" take longer than the other television show writers? I'm really needing a fix here people, and waiting another week is not going to cut it.

Why are we so blessed to have wonderful friends that we met in Provo and then magically appeared in Arizona? Life is full of fantastic relationships, isn't it? Here are Jen and Matt Garrett with their new baby Abigail and Jabba the Hut, errrr.... I mean Emma.

Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat? (Thanks Tamee for your ponderisms that helped me with this one!)

Why are my husband and baby SO DANG CUTE??

Why did Emma laugh for me last week and now is unwilling to repeat it?

How do you know your cellulite isn't as cute. I say we put it to a vote :) Very clever post and sorry about the car. That is so aggrevating.
My kids always hated tummy time and they turned out normal (relatively speaking). I gave up until they rolled themselves over.
I usually put a blanket on top of the carseat if it's parked out in the sun. It's still warm, but the buckles aren't smokin' hot. Don't know if that'll work in Arizona!
I loved this post--made me laugh!
You've given us all a lot to think about. As for the carseat the only solution I know is to put a blanket or towel over it when it is in the sun. Not much of a solution but its all I've got.

That last picture has got to be one of the cutest things I have ever seen! And I'm with you on the cellulite thing!
It was so funny to read this post because some of these things reminded me of Joselyn! For example, Joselyn HATES tummy time too. She could hold her head up but would cry and cry until we put her back on her back. Now that she can roll over, she knows how to get out of it. Also, when Joselyn laughed for the first time we could get her to laugh again for weeks!!! Do you know what finally got her? Ripping newspaper. She was laughing so hard! I didn't think a 3 month old could laugh that hard! Then after that it was another few weeks before we heard her again. Then it became more common and now she laughs all the time. Babies are so funny!!
Those cheeks are adorable!! My kids never liked tummy time either.
I'm sorry those kids defaced your car! grrr... People suck.
I wonder if you could get a reflective something to put over the car seat. I've never lived there with a baby. Sorry.
Keeping you waiting is what Lost is all about! It's just giving you the patience you need for all the questions that won't be answered until the final season!
Hi Matt and Jen! Your baby is adorable!
I loved this post. It made me smile. Ü
Sorry to hear about the car - that sucks! She is cute. Why do they hate tummy time - so does Makenzie. It's probably because we're making them work (ah child labor) :)
I was in a children's store the other day and they had this thing that you put in your freezer and then it went over your baby's seat and kept it cool for like 8 hours or something like that. I'm not sure how much it was and I was in a hurry but I thought about looking into it.
Greg - sucks about your car! Tammy - I just googled Keeping Car Seats Cool and I can't believe how much stuff came up! I have never checked into it but maybe there will be something that will work for you. When Lauren was little I just took her and her carseat everywhere with me. It wasn't until she was older and in an upright carseat that I had to worry about it getting hot in the car. And we hated tummy time at our house too! She is looking so big and so cute!
I just saw an ad for the Cold Seat. You freeze it and then cover the carseat with it. They were selling it at Childrens Orchard.
Greg: If I were to key your car I would have drafted something more personalized... like "lawyers stink!" or "259 sings off-key!" or "Greg has no butt!" I am so distressed that these punk kids had to leave something so uninspired and unoriginal engraved into your vehicle. Maybe they'll do better next time. I knew I should have paid 'em $50 instead of $25.....
As an added note (and it seems almost too simple)... but a heavier blanket thrown over the seat does help. The seat is still warm, but the buckles tend to stay cooler if totally covered from the sun.
You are too funny! I love reading your blog! Sorry about the car. Drew says he will hunt down the punk kids for you. I think he is looking for a new career and hunting down punks seems promising. Your Emma is adorable!
Hey everybody--She laughed for me. Finally--well, I guess kind of--she was looking in the mirror at herself and she laughed. I was holding her, and she looked over at me a couple of times too. So, I'm counting it.
Sorry to hear about the car! What did you do when that happens? Don't worry, Madi hated her tummy and she had big chubby cheeks too, but she eventually got it. As for the cellulite butt, I have often wondered that myself. Baby butts, cellulite and all are so dang cute. Adult butts, not so much! Loved this post, as I do all of them. Your blog is a fun one to read!
Emma is perfect!! That last picture is priceless!!
I agree with all your thoughts that you thunk. But with no answers for you. Well, except for the writing on the car one. I think we should be like the Arabic countries and chop off the few fingers to deter crime. I really think those Punks would learn a lesson. I had that happen to my rodeo, and as you can tell I was pretty fired up. Ok I still am. Tell Greg I feel his pain. Punks!!
Ah, ponderisms... I have them too... I've heard that a lot of babies who sleep on their backs have a hard time with tummy time, so you can thank "back to sleep" for that, I guess. I'm a horrible mother who probably deserves to be put in jail and locked up for years and years because my boys slept on their bellies (well, Kade sleeps how ever he wantsnow , and Charlie does too now)and because of that tummy time was never an issue for me. Japanese babies all seem to be able to walk and crawl and roll just fine, and the've been back sleepers for generations, so I'm sure you'll be fine :) And Emma is so cute! I love the chunky baby look. I want a chunka-lunka with one of MY babies!
My girls didn't mind tummy time if it was done with a boppy. The day I discovered that....I felt like a million bucks!
Those bleepin punks! That is infurating.
Last picture of Emma: CUTEST EVER!!! Love her!!
Tummy time: Does ANY baby like it? Kalia screamed every time.
Good tips on car seats, we've been pondering the same question.
LOST!! I can't stand it any longer, Thursday...GET HERE NOW!!
You freakin crack my up!!! Love the undies. You have to let me know when your concerts are. I'd love to come sometime.
Ok...so your baby is beautiful! I've missed you guys...sorry, just barely got the address to look at your blog. Did I invite you to mine? I can't remember!
