In October of 2006 we walked into Dr. Zoneraich's office of Advanced Fertility Care after 3 years of frustrations with infertility. They were a fantastic team of medical professionals. We were immediately told that In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) was essentially our only option for pregnancy. After a significant chunk of change - in January of 2008, we held this little angel in our arms.
Yesterday, we walked into Advanced Fertility Care yet again. January 26th. My half birthday :) !! We have saved our pennies and nickels over the last two years and are ready to try our luck again at another baby. When Dr. Zoneraich opened the door to the reception area, he greeted me with a BIG smile and and even BIGGER hug. I immediately knew we had made the right decision to return to his clinic. He was interested in what we had been doing the last few years and most interested in seeing and hearing about Emma. We felt like we were in the company of old friends. What a blessing, during a time of significant inner unrest.
Our first $700 of MANY was spent - and we left with a plan. If all goes well, the surgery will take place in April. The months preceding April will be filled with blood work, tests, procedures, lots of drugs, and anticipation. If IVF is successful it will be money WELL spent. If the IVF is unsuccessful, it will be money well spent TRYING.My brain has been battling whether or not to blog about this - but in the end I feel it is worth my emotional exposure. Maybe it can help someone who is also having infertility concerns or maybe it can help educate those people who don't understand the TURMOIL that exists in others who bear the infertility trial. Ignorance can lead to some VERY insensitive comments.
Whatever the cause, you must all be aware, this may not end well. We may spend all this money, and all this time, and all this pain to end up with no pregnancy. It's the chance we are willing to take. I have faith that the Lord is watching over us and will bless us with the experiences we need for growth. My prayers are always that we will be blessed with another baby, if it be His will. Your prayers are always needed and appreciated.

Hope all goes well. We will be praying for you because infertility issues is CRAP! (not trying to be insensitive because I know how it feels too). Good luck with all of the appointments and being ready on a days notice for anything!
Tam, I hope you'll forgive me for any past insensitive remarks I may have made! I was thinking about you and Greg the other day and what amazing parents you guys are and how lucky any spirits are that are sent your way. I will be praying for you guys!
What is money good for if not to spend! and what a better cause could there be! But with emotions tied to it, it becomes a lot harder!! You will be in our prayers!!
Tammy! How exciting! I hope that it goes well for you guys. I, too will be praying for you guys. Also, as a side note, Emma is too cute and I love reading about her!:)
GOOD LUCK!!! We'll be praying for you. (I'm sorry if I have ever made insensitive comments. I was not the most sensitive person in years past.)
Thank yous o much for sharing this with us! We are so excited for the potential for an adorable baby #2 to join your already amazing family and you will be in our prayers, for sure. We love you guys!
We'll be praying our guts out for you guys and keeping you in our fasts as well. I know the Lord's will will always be done, but I definitely know the power of many prayers! Also, I talked to Lara...how does the last Sunday in February work out for a Sunday dinner?
Yeah for you! I know it is a long, rough and expensive road for you. I hope it goes as well this time as it did last time!
Our prayers are sent your was as well! We love you!!!
You guys are such an inspiration--I hope that everything goes well and that, above all, everybody stays healthy. And any money spent trying to bring another child into your home (whether or not it's successful) is definitely money well spent.
One more comment in a long line. I am so glad that you are going to blog about your experiences! You are right, ignorance can cause a lot of pain. But I know a lot of people who would like to know more and I think going to the source is a great way to find the answers to a lot of questions and what are appropriate ways to mention/discuss/inquire about someone's situation. So, thanks in advance for sharing and educating! we be praying for you all too!
My thought will be with your family during this. It is the best of times, and it can be the worst of times. I know how and what you are going through. Good luck. WIlliam and I will be going through that sometime around April/May too. I would love for you to blog about your trials. It helps me relate and cope.
First of all, I'm so glad you're ready to try again. Secondly, I'm glad you're blogging about it. Thirdly, you are probably two of the best parents EVER! I will keep you in my prayers, and hope for the happy outcome that you so deserve! We love you guys! Oh, and finally, you know this will make it impossible for you to do the Sherox, right? Is this your way of getting out of another tri?
Tammy, I read this post hoping that I haven't ever said anything flippantly that has hurt you inside. Joking can get a little KRAZY sometimes. :) But you know that we love you so so so so much and you are truly the best people and the best parents. I hope this process is a little kinder to your "womanly system" than the last go-round, but I hope the outcome is just as wonderful and adorable as that one! Thanks for sharing with us all.
I want to with you two the best in the upcoming months! I appreciate your willingness to talk about it. Although I hope I have never been insensitive to you or others with infertility issues, and your thoughts and feelings will help me gain a better understanding so that I won't be insensitive... My love and prayers are with you!
That is great news! Just trust in the Lord. It is all in His hands. You'll be in our prayers.
That's wonderful Tammy! We will keep you all in our prayers over the next few months!
I think it's fantastic that you blogged about it too Tammy, because you truly do make an impact on so many! Especially because you include Heavenly Father in your plans. What an amazing lady you are! I'm glad for that example. We will definitely be asking Him to let it go well too.
This is so exciting!! I wish you guys the best and thanks for inviting us on your journey. I'm sure it will be inspirational either way. As long as you don't end up like the octomom:)
You're going back on our prayer list! I'm so glad you posted about the IVF. Maybe someday I'll be brave enough to post about something meaningful. :)
We love you guys and are praying for you. There just have to be some more special little ones up there for you guys! So we'll hope our prayers added to everyone else's help get them here. :)
We know what you're going through and are happy that you're in a position to be able to do it again. Our prayers are with you!
