Fairytale Dancing

Emma has enjoyed dancing to music as long as she has been able to walk.

I, therefore, have been anxiously waiting for the age where she could enroll in the City of Tempe (read: cheap) dance classes.

We found the PERFECT class. Fairytale Dance. Every Friday Emma was living a dream come true. Dancing her little heart out to Disney princess songs.

Friday, July 22nd she had her very first dance recital. Calling it a RECITAL is a pretty big STRETCH. But, the kids danced in front of a room of adults, so what-the-heck, I'm calling it a recital.

Best $20 we've spent all year.

Emma had picked out her "dance outfit" for three days prior. She was SOOOO excited to perform. Her cheering section included Mom, Dad, Aunt Gina, Cousins Anna and Isaac, and Grammie Lou. What a lucky girl to have such love and support.

We followed the momentous occasion with lunch at the finest establishment that also has a playground for children. You guessed it. McDonald's. And the adults had a lovely time chatting while the kids were entertained with slides and climbing contraptions.

For family interested... here is the video of her dancing to a Little Mermaid song.

So cute! Love her outfit! Elise is starting her dance classes this fall. Isn't it fun to watch them get so into performing! Wonder where they get it? Ha ha.

Wow, so nice to see fairytale dance class in its final performance after hearing about it so much in May! Emma has some excellent improvisational skills. I think she's got a bright future in "lyrical dancing". :)
